Before that, either the ./configure needs some additional
parameters or the Makefile has to be patched. With the
dependencies installed, the jpeg libraries and headers aren't
found etc. --prefix is not enough. I didn't have enough
perseverance to dig deeper, but that's what bit me, even before
starting to actually compile Cinelerra.

But it seems Aragon has gotten past that point already; see the
other thread "Cinelerra FreeBSD port"
